Edit a provisioning policy (agents)

Important

Windows 365 for Agents is in public preview. The feature is under active development and might change before general availability.

You can edit a provisioning policy (agents) to update configurations and agent assignments.

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center, then select Devices > Provision Cloud PCs > Provisioning policies (Agents).
  2. Select the provisioning policy you want to edit.
  3. On the policy page, select Edit next to the section you want to update:
    • General information
    • Image
    • Agents
    • Configuration

You can't change the Geography of an existing provisioning policy (agents). To use a different geography, create a new provisioning policy and delete the existing one.

Changes applied immediately

Changes to the following policy-level or pool-level properties apply immediately:

  • Description
  • Billing policy
  • Always available Cloud PCs count
  • Agents

Changes that require reprovisioning

Changes to the following Cloud PC-level properties require reprovisioning before they take effect:

  • Name
  • Image
  • Windows settings

For example, if you change the provisioning policy name, the enrollmentProfileName in Microsoft Intune isn't updated.

Reprovisioning

The Reprovision action lets you reprovision all Cloud PCs in a provisioning policy (agents). This action is required to update certain Cloud PC properties and can also help resolve pool warning or failure statuses.

When you reprovision a provisioning policy (agents), all associated Cloud PCs are deleted and recreated. Each Cloud PC is reprovisioned by using the current configuration defined in the provisioning policy. If the image or any other configuration changed, the reprovisioned Cloud PCs use the updated settings.

You can also specify the percentage of Cloud PCs to keep available for agents while reprovisioning is in progress.
