Set up billing for Windows 365 for Agents

Windows 365 for Agents is in public preview. The feature is under active development and might change before general availability.

Windows 365 for Agents uses a mix of consumption-based (pay-as-you-go) pricing and per-Cloud-PC monthly charges (always available), billed through your existing Azure subscription. Agents check out a Cloud PC from a pool to perform a task and return it when complete. You're billed only for the duration of usage by agents.

This article explains how to view, update, and manage billing settings associated with Windows 365 for Agents for use through Agent 365. To set up billing for Windows 365 for Agents through Microsoft Copilot Studio, go to the Power Platform admin center and follow the steps in Use a Cloud PC pool with Copilot Studio.

Step 1: Create or update a billing policy

  1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.

  2. Go to Billing & usage > Billing policies.

  3. Select Add a billing policy (or choose an existing policy if one is already configured).

  4. Provide the following details:

    • Name
    • Azure subscription
    • Resource group
    • Region

    Note

    The billing policy name appears in Microsoft Intune when you create a provisioning policy (agents) for selection. For more information, see Create a provisioning policy for Windows 365 for Agents.

    The selected region determines the pricing meter applied to your Cloud PC usage. For public preview, Cloud PCs can be provisioned only in the US region, regardless of the region you select.

    The user section isn't applicable for Windows 365 for Agents. You can refine the access further through the Agent 365 control plane.

  5. Review and create the billing policy.

Step 2: Enable Windows 365 for Agents for the billing policy

  1. Return to Billing & usage.
  2. Go to Pay-as-you-go services.
  3. Enable Windows 365 for Agents for the selected billing policy.

After you complete these steps, the billing policy is ready to be used when you create a provisioning policy (agents) in Intune.

What if I disable billing for Windows 365 for Agents?

If a billing plan disables Windows 365 for Agents, any Cloud PC check-out action will fail. To restore check-out functionality, administrators must relink the affected Cloud PCs pools to an active billing plan and reprovision the pools.
